Under What Circumstances is Circumcision Required?

1.

Phimosis

The foreskin is too narrow to be pulled back for exposing the glans. Phimosis has major impacts on body growth. In one situation, the circumference of the glans crown may become much smaller than normal after maturity, as the glans is insufficiently stimulated due to coverage by the foreskin during adolescence. The condition will affect sex sensation and sex life in adults. For those men having much smaller circumference of the foreskin opening, the foreskin can easily get stuck at the crown slit after retraction and thus leading to painful phimosis.

2.

Foreskin Infection

Secretions inside the foreskin cannot be thoroughly cleansed due to lengthy or tightly foreskins. The resultant infection or scar formation after chronic infection will cause narrowing of the urethral opening, thereby hindering urination.

3.

Urinary Tract Infection

Growth of bacteria inside the urethra will cause unpleasant feeling and pain.

4.

Impact on Sex Life

Male foreskin hygiene is closely related to women's health. A lot of women experience unpleasant feeling or itching at the urethra when their male partners have lengthy foreskin and unhygienic habits. It is shown that cervical cancer is closely related to the foreskin hygiene. Therefore, men need to be considerate for their female partner's health by assuring hygiene of the foreskin.

5.

Paraphimosis

A condition where the foreskin opening is too small. Blockage of penile blood circulation and intense pain will result when the foreskin gets stuck at the glans slit.
